Seen on this page are some photos from Chief Erwin Ward's years with the Alstead Police Department. Ward was the first chief and served for more than 40 years. Sadly, Chief Ward passed away in 2020 at the age of 89. In 2018, Penny Gendron interviewed him, as well as the other previous chiefs and compiled their recollections in Protect and Serve: A History of the Modern Police Department in Alstead, NH 1957-2018 located on this website under "History of Modern Dept." tab.
